C3S is a collaborative effort to found a new and ground-breaking European collecting society for musical creators being built with themselves participating. C3S is intended to become a non-exclusive collective society to register musicians' works outside of traditional schemes, released under Creative Commons non-commercial licences, but monetised in commercial use. More than that, C3S will offer registering works for commercial purpose released under other free licences as well, including those works released under no explicitly defined licences.

C3S is about to start in Germany, sowing the seed that is to grow and flourish over borders to be established in every European country.

Aware of the fact that it is a challenge of unprecedented extent, it yet is necessary to take the step to enable independent artists to monetize Creative Commons and works free of licences - while keeping them free for fair & non-commercial use.

C3S - that is implementing highest technological effort, democratic standards, legal certainty for licensees and a social friendly approach to support young & not established artists.
